Matauri-Bay - Memorial

At the end of the 1980s, a memorial was erected on a hill named Mataa Uri at Matauri Bay to commemorate the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior – and to pay tribute to the crew and the life of photographer Fernando Pereira. The memorial was designed and built by New Zealand artist Chris Booth.
