Before the Rainbow Warrior was sunk by the French agents in the port of Auckland, the vessel played a part in many campaigns. From 1978 the Rainbow Warrior was involved in non-violent protests against whaling, radioactive waste dumping at sea, expanding oil exploration and the reprocessing of nuclear waste.
