Matauri-Bay - Upper-deck

This is the top deck with a view to the navigation bridge. The engine room is located beneath the bridge. On its exterior wall an explosive device of around 10 kilograms was attached by the French agents. It tore an enormous hole, several meters wide, out of the side of the ship.

Near the Propeller, at the stern, the second mine detonated. It was nearly midnight. Within a few minutes the ship sank.
